Sania Mirza makes first round exit in Florida

Sania Mirza's campaign in the $220,000 MPS Group Championships wilted in the first round with seventh seed Alona Bondarenko swamping the Indian in straight sets.

The Ukrainian seventh seeds maintained her supremacy throughout the match to tame Sania 6-4 6-3 and set up a second round tie with sister Kateryna, who defeated Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, 7-6(2) 6-2.

Sania has teamed up with Chia-Jung Chuang and the Indo-Taipei duo will face Melinda Czink of Hungary and Lilia Osterloh of America in the first round.
